Strengthen The Spirit - Fight The Flesh

We continue to hear from God on how we can strengthen our spirit and fight our flesh. The fight is fixed, we know we win, but we have a part to play. There is a battle and we must use the weapons of our warfare that are mighty through God, and we will have the victory!

Exodus 33:13 God will show us his way, just ask Him!

We were taught not to be conformed (or moulded) to the world and its traps, as it is described in
1 John 2:15-16, but rather to be transformed (Romans 12:1-2) just like a caterpillar that goes from the old, through the process (metamorphosis) and into the new, coming out flying high!
When we overcome the flesh and endure temptation, we get a great reward! (James 1:12) It isn't always easy, but it sure is worth it!

  1. This was another good meal, it all boils down to immerseing ourselves in the word as we go through the process.
Praying the scripture fuels our faith in the one who is faithful and it fuels our faith in the one who is believeable. we will continue to win battles over the flesh as we fed on the word

  2. Wow, I was so blessed today!! The parallel of jello and how it harderns to the mould is so true! If you don't take heed, you can find yourself living with and practising the world's mindset. Thanks Pastor Kev......Lord I'm willing to change and not give up on the process.......Amen!

  4. This Sunday's message is one that can readily be applied to anyone's life who is looking to finally get the victory over those things that have been a frustrating hinderance for so long! If we allow God to take us through the process without continually getting up and running away, we can start to see some pretty amazing results. We are changing as we step through the process! This is where the statements were originated that say, "I may not be where I want to be, but I thank God I am not where I used to be!" and "They see the glory, but they don't know the story!" It is all about a willingness to make the choice (commitment) to change and then following through with that commitment. God is faithful and as you are too, He will show you great and mighty things that you currently do not know or cannot see. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." If we stop reading there though, as most do who quote this verse, we will miss some amazing, good news! The next verse says, "but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit." That means that when we walk in the spirit, God reveals things that would not (or cannot) be revealed to the flesh! This series is so exciting for me, my family and my Life Group. Change is happening, choices are being made and God is being glorified! Thanks Pastors!

  5. We are being challenged to be holy, set apart for God. The tempter is tempting, but God, by His Holy Spirit, infused us with his strength through Pastors prayer to help us overcome our temptation. Miss a service...u know the rest.

  6. it's a challenge but God is able. I notice that this week I have come up against big walls, but all I new to do was get into the word and commit myself to reading it. Every once in a while my flesh got in the way, but I just ignored it and pressed through by reading on. After I finished I new I was covered by Gods mercy and grace. Yes I still make mistakes, but God is able. Please do not give up and do not give in. God will see you through. It all boils down to obedience. That's what we've been taught. Thank you Pastors.

  7. We are war and caught between the crossfire of the world and the Spirit. Continue to teach us Pastors. Let the Word nourish us as we enable the Fruit of our Spirits. Man is it great to be in Church!!!!!!
