Fight The Flesh - Strengthen The Spirit

The Word of God was delivered in supernatural power this morning! This series on Fighting the Flesh and Strengthening our Spirits is opening the trap that has kept us back and is freeing us to move in the Spirit to accomplish our purpose as Transformers in God's Kingdom.

Question: How Do We Walk in the Spirit? – Rom 8:12-16

We are not obligated to the sinful nature but rather to the Spirit of God, therefore putting to death the sinful nature and living, as sons of God! We have a new identity. We have surrendered our old passport!

Answer: We need to read The Word (John 17:17) and have a relationship with the Spirit.

There is a Life & Death conflict going on inside of us – Galatians 5:17 - The Bible says the acts of the sin nature are obvious! But they are contrary to the Fruit of the Spirit found in Galations. There are actually not 9 fruits but 9 facets of one fruit! The Fruit of the Spirit are actually Qualities of the Spirit.

The Root Determines the Fruit. What is planted and where it is planted determines what will grow. It is the Fruit that determines Christ's Character.

  1. Man what a service we had today!! Worship was so powerful and the word even more powerful!! Glory to God! Pastor Kev was so in tune with the Holy Ghost...my hearts cry was "Lord I'm tired of the flesh ruling in my life" and it's so funny it's as if he saw what was in my heart! That's how I know it was the Holy Ghost leading him! I was also so blessed to learn about the fruit of the Spirit.....Awesome practical stuff, man!! Praise God!

  2. Unbelievable! Once again we were shown that the Word is the key to walking in the Spirit. One of my favourite scriptures is Romans 8:14 - "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." Verse 16 shows us that we can be assured we are children of God by walking in the Spirit. That would make it pretty clear that walking in the flesh disqualifies us from being children of God! Ouch!! Who doesn't want the assurance of being His child? Virtually everyone who has made a decision for Christ has their identity challenged by the enemy on a regular basis. The part of this message that impacted me most was when Pastor Kevin said, "We have a new identity. We have surrendered our old passport!" That really hit me. We are now citizens of a new kingdom. There is no dual-citizenships in the Kingdom of God! We must give up our old identity completely if we are going to walk in the Spirit and have victory! Next week promises to impart even greater revelation! I can't wait... See you at Life Group!

  3. We are at war and caught in the crossfire between the world and the Spirit. Continue to teach us Pastors. Let the Word nourish us as we enable the Fruit of our Spirits. Man is it great to be in church!!!!!!!

  4. now we are really understanding who our real enemy is, now we cannot blame culture or family geneology, the culprit is the flesh and we know how to win feed the spirit, submerge in the word daily, but we must ask God to give us that hunger for the word,As David said As the hart pants after the water brook, my soul pants after thee.Keep going Pastor

  7. This Sunday really challenged us to live according to the fruit of the Spirit. We often forget who we are supposed to be in Christ. What you cultivate and grow is what will come out of you. Let the word/fruit grow inside of you.
