Fight The Flesh, Strengthen The Spirit

There are 3 realms we all face:

  1. The World
  1. The Devil
  1. The Flesh (Sinful Nature)

"If you live by the Spirit, you will control the flesh!" Galatians 5:16

  1. I thank God for His Grace and Mercy. That long, long list of the works of the flesh deals with various aspects of our lives and somewhere or another we MISS the mark. I thank God and Christ that there is a way out where the workings of the flesh can be under the Blood. Yes, we have out choices in everything and choice plays a huge part in our success.
    Thank You God!!!!!!!

  2. Another blockbuster, the world, the flesh and the devil, but the overcomer is the one allowing the holy spirit to lead, what a practical message one that strengthens me, even though i miss the mark so many times, there is overwhelming victory as I submit to the work of the holy spirit in my life.
Thank God again for you as our pastors.
    Have a Blessed week.

  3. I believe with all my heart that God has been preparing us(HWC)for the release of our prophetic promises in this the YEAR OF VICTORY!!!.
Over the past few months God has been speaking through our Pastors (Thanks for their obedience)teaching us how to be thankful in ALL situations and how to control the Flesh.

Yesterday's sermon was just awesome, as we learned that even the Apostle Paul had truble controling the flesh, BUT his Dermination, PERSERENCE AND LOVE FOR GOD KEPT HIM GOING.

I BELEIVE GOD HAS BEEN PREPARING HWC AND NOW WE ARE READY FOR ALL THINGS. VICTORY OVER EVERY CIRCUMSTANCES IN 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. This clear, biblical teaching helps believers to understand that the enemy of their soul has been disarmed by the power of the cross and that he has no power but what the believer chooses to give him. We have been given all power to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony! When we sin, we need to recognize that WE have missed the mark. When we try to deflect the blame, we only prolong the process we need to go through to be empowered to overcome. Since the cross, we have become accountable for our actions. When we avoid crucifying our flesh, we deny the power of the cross to free us, to enable us to do what God has called us to do with power from on high! Thank God for Pastors that aren't afraid to teach the Word of God with power, empowering us to overcome!

  5. WOW. These last few weeks/months have been key to HWC moving forward. I really believe these messages regarding controlling the flesh are essential to our victory and success. As we all move forward into our prophetic destiny, the enemy will definitely be there tempting. That's why we need the Spirit to control our flesh now, daily, so that when God releases his abundant blessing, we will stay grounded in the word and not fall back.

  6. Awesome!!! This word has confirmed what I have been reading and what God has been showing me. "...There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.." Rom. 8:1

  7. The message Pastor preached on Sunday was very powerful. I had not realized that there are three realms that influence us. Now that I know, it all makes sense! It helped me to recognize that there are many things we are surrounded by that influence us. However, I realized that our flesh can also influence us as well-we can be a source of our own problems. There are times that we need to take responsibility for our own actions. We cannot always blame our problems on the world or the devil. Life changing message, thanks Pastor.

  8. This sermon series is so foundational - the messages are easily remembered and can be practically applied to everyday life. It is so easy to be influenced by those around us, but God has called us to live counter culture.

  9. Man this message is so in season! Sometimes it is easy to try to blame everything on the devil when we need to get our flesh in control. The revelation that it me was when pastor said that too many people try to 'control the flesh, than live by the spirit..." This is backwards and will only cause you to feel worthless and never good enough. Live by the spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.. What a WORD!!!!
