This Is Only A Test!

This week, Pastor Kevin showed us '2 Things To Do To See Victory' in the midst of the test:

  1. Control the Flesh

“A person without self-control is as defenseless as a city with broken down walls.”
Prov 25:28

Pastor Kevin was very clear in telling us, "This is a word from God for everyone here!!"

We will get to the best if we control our flesh... but just how do I control my flesh?

We need to keep feeding our spirit – this is the time to:

  • Pray More
  • Bite My Tongue
  • Read the Word More
  • Bite My Tongue
  • Get in Church Every Week
  • Bite My Tongue
  • Get Around Godly People More
  • Bite My Tongue
  1. Respond Wisely

“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5

WISDOM - Proper response to do the Godly and righteous thing.

GENEROUSLY- Liberally or with an open hand, not holding back.

It was made very clear that 'God Has VICTORY For Me!' Please testify on this blog about the victory God is giving you through the test, as you become more and more thankful.

  2. Man what a powerful day! You never know what the Holy Ghost will do when you come ready to hear the Word of God. Man controlling the flesh is a daily thing! Your flesh has to be CRUCIFIED! Bite the TONGUE!!!! Man that was funny but SOOOO True! Then at the end of service by the HG leading we prayed for marriages and families that the enemy would be pushed back from having any place in our homes.I thought it was amazing when all the families joined together at the alter to pray together and commit to the Lord! That is revival! The Heart of the children to the Father and the Fathers to the Children! POWERFUL!!! Miss a service, Miss a lot!!

  3. Crucifying the flesh is not an easy or pleasant discipline, but it is the only way to pass the test and live in victory!

  5. Wow. The message of Sunday morning was so on time. Because this is the year of Victory, the enemy has been trying to make us lose control of our flesh more than ever, and it definitely affects our families and marriage. The alter call for marriages and families was so needed and I believe that HWC is more empowered than ever to see victory corporately and individually. Personally, before Sunday I was battling with issues that made me question whether I was a good husband and father. I received my breakthrough at the alter, and our family's about to do great things in Jesus name!

SIDE NOTE: Pastors, its awesome to see that you always flow in the Holy Spirit. The 2nd point in the message (respond wisely) was the sermon of Creflo Dollar on his TV show today (July 13)! Super abundant blessings to you both!

  6. Talk about a power-packed Word...It's time for us to take seriously that our flesh must be crucified. Thank you for your obedience in delivering that word Pastor. I needed it and I'm sure many others did too. Bless you both!

  7. That word came right on time! Lately it's as if the enemy has been trying to pull and tug on my family with foolish arguments and disagreements. This Sunday THE WORD was powerful as we learned to control our flesh and bite our tongues. Each week I feel more and more empowered to fulfill the things that God had called me to.

  8. At times I find it hard to fit reading the word into my schedule. However, it is very essential to feed my spirit with positive aspects of life, knowing the bible is a “lamp to our feet & a light to our path”. People, who purposely say things to frustrate me are waiting to see a negative response. The KEY is to respond wisely and BITE MY TONGUE. Before I respond to any given situation, it is important to ask myself “is this something Jesus would say?”.

For me it is hard to humble myself in situations where God is testing me. But it is something that I am learning to make me a better young man of God! Great word Pastors.

  9. Awesome word!! Man the flesh can really get in the way at times.....I was so blessed by the scripture that reminds us that "he who controls his own spirit is greater than he who conquers a whole city".....thank you Jesus for showing us how to walk this out!!

  10. This series, from the very 1st note on Refraining from Complaining and Thanks-living to now, has been a definite Word from God Himself to us, in this year of victory. I believe if we don't seriously commit to walking out the Word spoken by God thru the Pastors, we will not see victory the way God wants us to experience it. It begs for a daily renewing of our minds and further committing of ourselves. It's not what our flesh wants to do but it's a necessary thing with great rewards.

God is faithful and He is our help. I bless you Pastors for allowing the Holy Spirit to speak thru you and impact our lives for greatness! You both are truly a blessing to us all!

In 2009, VICTORY shall be mine!

  11. Powerful and challenging word Pastor. Controlling my flesh is challenging however, so necessary for me and my family to get to where we are going in Christ. Secondly, responding wisely is also key in my life...God said in His word to ask for wisdom and He will give it liberally. Thank God. Also, the altar call for marriages and famililies was powerful and so necessary for us. Thank-you.

  12. The message on Sunday was very POWERFUL…definitely a word in season. When Pastor had said, we will make it through, because it is only a test. I was praising God, and everything inside me was jumping, hallelujah!!! I heard it before, but I really caught it on Sunday. I was challenged to continually crucify my flesh and to live out the Word. There have been challenges, I have even been feeling weighed down. But God…I am keeping my eyes on Him, because He will never give me more than I can handle. I am so thankful for the word on Sunday, I really needed it. I am making the choice to control my flesh and respond wisely – biting my tongue, even when the pressure is on!!!

    Thanks,

    T.W
