The theme scripture for this series is ISAIAH 9:1-7. The word for HWC in 2009 and beyond is Victory. You need to understand that VICTORY only comes to those with a STRONG CHARACTER, those who are COMMITTED to CHRIST.
In Isaiah 9:1, the word 'gloom' means: "despondency and a sense of hopelessness". To live in Despair, is actually to live with Your Back Turned towards God; To live in Hope, is to live with Your Face Turned towards God. We can't just cope but we need to Hope because when you hope, you have a future certainty grounded in a present reality!
WHY HOPE? Because God is faithful! (Hebrews 10:23) HOW DO WE HOPE? Romans 15:13 says “Now may the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace in BELIEVING, so that you will abound in HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit.” BELIEVING means "saving faith, to have complete confidence and trust that Jesus is able". Believing produces hope which is a confident expectation of good.
It is so important for believers to understand that an abundant (abounding in hope) life is not a life where problems are absent, but a life where God’s power is present!

CHALLENGE: Do you abound in HOPE? Ask the God of HOPE to fill you with all joy and peace in BELIEVING, so that you will abound in HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit. Then, give hope away like it was candy!

Hope in Christ in all times in every season. I may not be perfect, I may be going through situations but my hope is founded on Jesus. Thank you Pastor for the message on Sunday. Powerful!!!
ReplyDeleteDo you need hope? Then you need Jesus. He's won the victory already. It doesn't mean you won't have problems, but it means you'll have hope in all situations. It's time for an abundant life full of hope. Thanks again Pastor for a word in season.

ReplyDeleteJesus is all you need,wow that is powerful. Sunday service was amazing,just like every sunday at hwc. I brought a co-worker and he could;nt believe how friendly and helpful and supportive everyone was. He never seen nothing like that before he was blown away by hwc;s hospitality.And the leadership social was off the charts.Thank you pastor Kevin and Pam for God has more in store. Get ready harvest worship center for what God is about to do.
