Today's message was phenomenal! Refraining from Complaining has shown me that I can hinder the very blessings I am believing for by speaking in a bad way, murmuring or complaining. It was powerful to be reminded that I need to look and sound different than the world around me or they won't see any difference in me and will see no reason to come to Christ, since I am supposedly in Christ but live no differently than they. Making a list of the things I say during an average day that are murmuring or complaining has really enlightened me to how easy it is for me to sabotage my own destiny with my mouth. "...for out of the abundance (overflow) of the heart his mouth speaks." Luke 6:45b
Fantastic word! I will be watching what i say closely from now on!
ReplyDeleteToday's message was GREAT I received every word and it has caused me to really look at myself and things that we don't realize is complaining. I will be vigilant in this area and learn to be content in every area of my life. This message has hit my soul so deep. It was a POWERFUL MESSAGE. Can't wait for next week.
ReplyDeleteThis message was timely. We ALL need to stop complaining and murmuring, and start praising and thanking God! Now that we have been challenged by Pastor to write down when we complain, I've found myself more conscious of how much I actually complain and murmur and get so easily angered... :-( However now that I am aware, I'm holding my tongue easier now. I'm conscious and purposed to speak words that uplift and benefit others. Thank you Jesus! :-D
ReplyDeleteWOW. What a powerful service. This message has made me realize how much we complain and get angry about so many things that don't even really matter. It has become such a part of who we area as a society, that it's time to reverse it. This type of talking hinders God from being able to release all that he has for our lives. Whenever a thought of complaining comes to mind, counter it by speaking out an opposite positive thought. Let's get this junk out of our hearts and grab a hold of all that God has prepared for us. Living in Victory in every area of our lives.
ReplyDeletePowerful Message!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a challenge!
ReplyDeleteThis is not going to be easy to change, but if it is not challenging then we don't grow. Awesome how Pastor pointed out the scripture in Phil 4:11-13, tying together verse 13 "we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us", POWERFUL!! Can't wait for this weeks sermon, number 2 in this new awesome series!......and also to pickup more sheets...LOL
Prayer was awesome Friday night!!!!
ReplyDeleteI thank God for the opportunity to serve! There is such a peace and empowerment handing everything over to God. Thanks Pastor for leading us into and through and AWESOME "Hour of Power"!! Looking forward to Sunday!
Sunday's sermon was very practical. Even if I am not a constant complainer, it still makes me conscious of what is coming out of my mouth. When I realize I am going to say something and it's negative or is a complaint, I stop to think about what I am going to say and and change what comes out. So, I have been more aware of the words that come out of my mouth this week. Am I there yet, no! But with God's help and strength,I will get there. Also, gratefulness is the opposite of discontent. As we become more grateful to God and what He has done in our lives, our complaining will become less and less.
ReplyDeleteSunday's service was one-of-a-kind. I think our Pastor is striving hard to instill in us qualities that will make us better human beings on this earth. Though I make a lot of mistakes every now and then,I still see myself moving closer and closer to God when I follow all the things Pastor preaches on Sundays. This Sunday's message of not complaining has made me appreciate all the incredible blessings I have in my life and be grateful to God for them. I like the way he challenged us to write down the complaints. Now I know I have a chance to eventually stop complaining and make God proud! I like the way Pastor takes us closer to God with his messages every week.
ReplyDeleteThe second message in this series on Thankfulness was mind-blowing!!!! Society is filled with anxiety. We keep asking God to remove the distraction that causes anxiety but He wants us to function in the midst of the distraction. We need to recognize that our dependence is in Him. We have an anointing from the Holy One. It is a gift from God that empowers us through the distraction to the victory! We learned that contentment doesn't come naturally, but that Paul says he 'learned' how to be content. It is our choice, God has already chosen. Maybe we have lost our peace because we are unthankful! No one can steal our peace, we give it up by choice whether we know it or not! We were taught to dream big, stay at peace and expect the victory!
ReplyDeleteMiss a service...
