Walking With The Greats - The Life of Abraham

This week's service can be watched at
http://www.kbmlive.tv/

WHO'S YOUR DADDY?

Romans 4:11 calls Abraham “The father of all them that believe.”

Abraham was:
God’s Extraordinary Promises come to ordinary, everyday people just like you.  2010 is your time to possess your promises!  It really doesn't matter what your background is.  Abraham's family worshipped many gods.  Yet God chose to bless Abraham because Abraham chose to believe!

The Steps for Becoming A Person of Faith:
  1. Great Faith Requires Obedience
    • He Obeyed God - By Letting Go of the Past
      Genesis 12:1
      • Don’t Drag Your Past Into Your Future!  It won't fit.  You need to leave the past behind you!  Past habits, relationships, limitations.
      • Don't keep looking back.  The windshield is bigger than the rear-view mirror for a reason.  You ought to be spending more time looking forward than looking backward.
  2. Great Faith Requires Trust
    • He Trusted God - He Was Willing to Put His Future in God’s Hands.
It's one thing to obey God and let go of the past, but we must also trust God for our future.  Continue to trust God; His promises will come to past.  Everything He promised, He will do!Hebrews 11:17-19.

At 100 years old Abraham was still being tested.  He trusted God when it wasn't logical... but it was reasonable!  Great faith will be tested in every season of your life.

You don't pray to become a great person of faith.  It is not a destination, it is a journey and must be walked out.  It requires action on our part.  Every step you make takes your faith to the next level.  James 2:18 "I will show you my faith by my works"

Focus Verse: Galatians 3:6 "just as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."

Will you trust God when things don't go the way you expect?  He promised to be with you and never leave or forsake you!

2 Timothy 1:12 "...for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him".

Do you believe?

CHALLENGE: Do you have a promise from God that has still not manifested?  Is your faith being tested?  Then it's time to do some inventory.  Check yourself and see if you are walking in obedience.  Then, examine yourself to see if you are walking in complete trust.  If you find an area where you have not trusted or obeyed God, take time this week to surrender your trust over to God and step into obedience in that area.  Then, wait on the Lord because in due season you will see the manifestation of His promises as you continue to trust and obey.

HWC, This Is Your Season - Don't Miss It!

This week's service can be watched at
http://www.kbmlive.tv/

Bishop Jonathan Alvarado - IMPACT Conference 2010
Sunday - PM

Ecclesiastes 3:1 Ecclesiates means 'Preacher'.  Solomon, the writer, was an 'accident'. He was the product of a relationship that should have never happened.  Out of David's folly comes Solomon expressing God's wisdom.  By God's grace, no matter what you have gone through or where you have come from, God wants to use you and this is your time, this is your season!

Solomon understood something about purpose!  It's not where you start, it's where you finish!  We need to understand times and seasons.  Solomon was born at the right time, even though he was born through the wrong circumstances.  Timing is everything!  This season holds something very particular for you.  Don't miss it!  We have missed too many times and too many seasons.  We need to discern 'when', not just 'what' God is doing in this season.  This IS THE season; don't miss God this season!

What God is doing this season:
  1. It's a Season for Assessment: Know what's happening!  "Moses, what's in your hand?  Start with that!"  Work with what you've got to work with now!  Don't throw away your miracle because you haven't assessed what you have to work with.
  2. It's a Season for Alignment: Firstly, alignment with God.  The bumps in life's roads take you out of alignment.  Life goes off course because we need an alignment.    It takes a lot of effort to keep life going straight if life is out of alignment.  Secondly, alignment with the right people.  Not everyone is happy with your blessing.  Amos 3:3 Walking together in agreement.  The way to promotion is alignment, at every level.  When it's time to accelerate, you can't be out of alignment.  You will shake and break down faster than you can imagine.  All of us need to be aligned.
  3. It's a Season for Advancement: 'When you are someplace, but you want to be someplace further.'  It was just a matter of timing.  You stuck with it and now it's your time for advancement!  We are going somewhere.  We are moving forward.  We are not staying where we were!
Once you discern what the season is for, you must also discern what the season is not for!
  1. It's Not a Season to Retreat!  When you see a giant, don't run back!  Retreat is not an option.  This time, hold your ground!  Victory is sure if you don't retreat.  Even if you take small steps forward, you are moving closer to your victory.  You are past the point of no return!
  2. It's Not the Season to Repeat!  Enough is enough!  God delivered you out of that.  How many times do you have to go through it before you get it?  How much money do you have to lose before you get it?  If you always do what you've always done...  God's trying to move you forward.
  3. It's Not the Season to Recede!  When God delivers you, don't be quick to forget what He has done.  Don't go back to where you were because you forgot what God did for you.  Don't take a vacation and miss what God is doing in this season.  Don't go back to business as usual.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 - A time for every purpose 'under heaven'.  God's authority and governing of Heaven.  God is trying to position us in this season.  There is a resonance happening in heaven and in you but it won't happen until you are in the right position under heaven.  Tune your heart to heaven.  God is re-positioning you.

CHALLENGE: Can you discern the season you are in?  Are you ready to assess, align and advance?  Will you commit to not retreat, repeat or recede?  Then make it a point this week to journal what God is saying he is doing in this season (assess).  Compare notes with another in the house to see if the wheels in the car are meeting the same specifications (align).  Then pray with that friend for God's advancement in their life and yours.

Head Off Your Giants!

This week's service can be watched at
http://www.kbmlive.tv/

Dr. Toni Alvarado - IMPACT Conference 2010
Sunday - AM

1 Samuel 17:1-11,26-27,45-47,50-51

The IMPACT Conference began yesterday, where we were reminded that God needs to displace people or things that currently possess what God is trying to get to you so that you can possess your land.  But you need to realize that you can't get anything God wants you to have without fighting for them.

There will be giants you have to fight to get to your promises!  Giants are those things that have the potential to stop you in your tracks, hinder your potential or keep you from reaching your destiny or your full capacity.  Sometimes those giants are public, but most of us are walking around with private giants.  Giants like fear, intimidation, envy, lust, depression, addictions, are giants that have to come down.

We have made some giants socially acceptable.  If we as believers are going to have impact in our world, we have to slay our own giants first.

We also have status giants like finance.  That is a major giant in the church, our culture & our families.  Your educational level can be a giant!  Careers, health, emotions, rejection, abuses, bitterness, the way we think (stinking thinking), we have all had to deal with giants like these.  But in The Year of Acceleration, it's your time to say, "It's going to stop with me!"

Goliath taunted the Israelites twice a day for 40 days, so if what you are dealing with doesn't seem to be going away, chances are good it's a giant.  Giants are by definition, very big.  They are sent to aggrevate and annoy us.  One of their sole purposes is to parade around like they are in charge.  They provoke and anger you.  They get at you with their words.  What the army of Israel heard paralyzed them.  Not what they saw, but what they heard.  Both faith and fear come by hearing.  Hear the Word and get faith.  Listen to the devil and get fear!

What have you heard that has caused you to fear?  Whose report will you believe?  If you are going to defeat the giants in your life, you need to be aware of the giants you are listening to.  Then, by faith, believe the report of the Lord!  Combat any negative you have heard with the promises of God from His Word!

Goliath had a physical shield that was carried by his armour bearer.  David had an inner shield of faith that protected him from fear.

Defeating Giants takes courage, discipline and strength.  Even the faith of a mustard seed is a great start.  What seems small in the natural is larger than your giant in the supernatural.  Face your giants!  Admit you are in trouble.  Faith is not denial.  Faith deals with the giant once we admit we have the giant!
  • Who God said I am is bigger than my giants!
  • What God said I can do is bigger than my giants!
  • Where God said I can go is bigger than my giants!
  • What God said I can have is bigger than my giants!
God only allows us to face giants we have the ability to defeat! 1 Corinthians 10:13Your giant is your test.  Tests are not designed to show what you don't know; they are designed to prove what you do know.  Life is a classroom.  Study to show yourself approved. Study history and see how giants have been slain before by Daniel, by Job, by Elijah...

When Goliath fell, David used the giant's sword to cut off its head, ensuring permanent defeat.  But he didn't take the corpse away with him.  He walked away from that burden, to celebrate the victory!  When the church begins slaying their giants, they will stop having church or going to church and start being the church!

In the Year of Acceleration, there is no room for excess baggage!
- Pastor Pam

CHALLENGE: Identify 3 giants that have been taunting you.  Read this week's passages and ask God to increase your faith to face those giants in God's strength!  Use the lessons from this week's word to defeat these giants and cut them off permanently.

God's Promises Are Great & Precious

This week's service can be watched at
http://www.kbmlive.tv/
Psalm 18:29-30
In Your Strength I CAN crush an army; with my God I CAN scale any wall.  As for God, his Way is Perfect. ALL The Lord's PROMISES Prove True!

Focus Verse: 2 Peter 1:3-4
"For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).  By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature."

Precious means 'of exceptional value'Great means 'many'. Did you know that there are almost 8000 promises in God's Word for your life?  WOW!!  Here are a few, just from Psalms:
There are so many promises!! Far too many to mention them all here, but you need to get to know them all!!  The only way to do that is to look for them in His Word!

Why is it Important for Us to Know God’s Promises?
You can't pursue what you don't know!  Being a Christian is all about promises.  It's not just about getting to heaven.  It's not even just about being forgiven.  It's about knowing and walking in the manifest promises of God for every area of your life.  His promises are given by grace and received by faith.  If you are experiencing God's promises, you will be the Light the bible talks about and you will win many to the Lord because anyone living in the promises of God is attractive and the world will want what you have.

Rewards & Recognition Program
God has a great Rewards program!  His promises motivate us.  There are many Loyalty programs out their but none that match God's rewards when you are loyal and faithful to Him! Don't forfeit the promises of God for temporal gain!

The word Escape means 'to slip away from pursuit, to avoid being captured'.  Oil is a symbol of the Holy Ghost.  Dip in the oil of the Spirit of God and the devil won't ever be able to get a grip on you!  You can always 'slip away' from his hold.

LOOK forward to God's promises and MOVE forward in God's purposes because ALL God's promises are TRUE and they are for YOU!

CHALLENGE: Read the Word of God every day this week and discover and record in your journal at least one promise from His Word for each day!  Then be loyal and faithful to God and watch how quickly you see His promises manifest in your life!

God's Promises Will Prove True

This week's service can be watched at

http://www.kbmlive.tv/
Psalm 18:29-30
In Your Strength I CAN crush an army; with my God I CAN scale any wall. As for God, his Way is Perfect. ALL The Lord's PROMISES Prove True!

Read Hebrews 6:9-15

Focus Verse: Hebrews 6:12

"We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised."
  1. Don’t Slow Down
    LAZY - sluggish, slow, tired
  2. Follow the Leader
IMITATE - to mimic or to mime
FAITH has a two-fold meaning:
  1. Faith is an attitude - It is trusting God.
'Faith is the confident expectation that God can and will act according to His word.'
  2. Faith is an action - faith is faithfulness.
God will sometimes wait until it looks absolutely impossible and then release the promise.  As an example, read about Abraham & his only son Isaac, the fulfillment of God's promise in Genesis 22:1-13.

Attitude & Action will bring the promise!  Trust & Obey (there is still no other way!)  Galatians 6:9 encourages us that '...in due time you will reap if you faint not'.
PATIENCE - 'a state of emotional calm in the face of provocation or unfavourable circumstances.'
Practical Tip: When experiencing frustration, instead of breathing out in fury, breathe in deeply and relax.
'In the year of Acceleration, we won't give in to frustration'

- Pastor Pam Begley
Faith & Patience work together:
  • FAITH'S ATTITUDE - Focusing on God’s Character - He will do what He has promised.
  • PATIENCE - Focusing on Our Character - Remain calm while we are waiting for God to do what he has said
CHALLENGE: If the enemy is causing you to doubt by saying, "its 25 years; Give Up...", reply with confidence, "God said it and He will do it!"  In this series we learned that "promises" means 'the word of God'.  His promises are His word and His word IS written!
